Oh my Ogee

The human face is a marvel in it's complexity. It exhibits a wide range of variations in its structure, influenced by factors such as ethnicity and gender. Yet, when we delve into the study of 'beauty' across diverse cultures, certain commonalities emerge, often defined by mathematical angles and ratios. You've likely heard of the golden ratio, but have you ever come across the term "Ogee Curve"? The Ogee curve is a graceful S-shaped contour that flows along the cheek, lending a fuller and more youthful appearance. This curve is closely associated with notions of beauty. As time passes, however, the Ogee curve tends to flatten, causing the cheek to lose its natural contour and vitality. If you've ever admired pictures of celebrities, regardless of their age, you've probably noticed that many of them boast beautifully defined cheekbones. Makeup artists also play a pivotal role in enhancing this feature by applying highlighter generously to the high points of the cheek, creating the illusion of higher cheekbones. The cheek area can be rejuvenated with the strategic use of dermal fillers to subtly enhance the Ogee Curve. It's one of my favorite areas to work on because even a slight alteration in this curve can make a profound difference in a person's facial aesthetics without drawing undue attention. Others might simply assume that you've lost weight or changed your makeup routine. However, the boost in self-confidence that comes with a well-defined Ogee Curve is truly remarkable and gratifying.
